After leaving school at 17, Paul joined the Army, serving for seven years as a radio communications officer for frontline aircraft in operational environments like Bosnia, Croatia, Northern Ireland, Canada and Germany.
After leaving the Army Paul worked for T-Mobile and was responsible for capacity planning of the T-Mobile WiFi Hotspot roll-out.
Paul joined BT’s R&D Wireless Networks Team at the world famous Martlesham Heath research centre during which he was the Lead Radio Architect for the UK’s largest Fixed WiMax network in rural Northern Ireland, and as part of the BT Openzone team assisted Intel with the development of the Intel Centrino chipset.
Paul is currently employed as Lead Wireless and Mobile Architect for Service Birmingham which provides IT infrastructure and services for Birmingham City Council – the largest City Council in Europe. As part of this role he designed the wireless infrastructure for the European Indoor Athletics Championships 2007, an event viewed by 100 million worldwide.
Paul is married to Margo and has two sons, Tyler (11) and Jake (3)
